After MIJ is removed from the picture (can you disable it rather than uninstalling it? I just uninstalled it as it is not necessary with a 3GC and my needs), you can again plug the 3GC in and it should install the basic driver through plug and play. Hit "uninstall" then unplug the 3GC USB afterwards.
From here click on "Change Settings" in the first tab, then click the Driver tab. In the hardware tab, click on Properties again. My solution was to completely uninstall/delete leftover files for MIJ then remove the useless driver it installed by going into:įrom there right click on the controller (should say something along the lines of "Motioninjoy"), click properties. If MIJ is installed, it will automatically install its own useless driver after plugging the 3GC into a USB then give you error messages. This seems to stem from the cheap nature of 3GC and MIJ not having a compatible driver. #0 įirst off, if you have Motioninjoy(MIJ) installed as I used to, your 3GC will LIKELY NOT FUNCTION as you will want it to. Ask for someone with your OS to do a guide and I will happily post it here if they take enough pity to do so. I am using Windows 7 and Dolphin 4.0.2 If you are using another OS or Windows version I cannot help you, although it may still be informative enough to lead you along.
#Steelseries 3gc controller setup steam how to
So I figure I'll post here for those who also have a 3GC and would like some advice on how to set this up for use with Dolphin or other things. Due to this when attempting to setup this controller for the first time out of the box, I found it quite difficult and had to find my own answers. But little information is out there on this controller due to its cheap nature, despite it being $20 and purchasable at most common retailers (Best Buy and GameStop for example).
As a gamer on a budget, the 3GC controller for PC is very affordable, and works fine for my needs.
